Apple Picking and Pumpkin Picking

Today we went apple picking. We also, got a pumpkin. We love fall. Today the weather was chilly and the leaves are beautiful. We are going to make an apple pie today, too.

Getting ready for winter.

Besides schooling, practicing music, running, doing chores the boys have been working hard to get ready for winter. They have been hauling, splitting and stacking wood. I will appreciate their hard work, especially when the cold weather gets here.

Bob Jones Orchestra

This past Monday we had a 38 piece orchestra, from Bob Jones
University, at our church. I know that this isn't the greatest
photo, but you get the idea of how crowded we were. They
sounded so beautiful! It was nice to see a lot of the "kids" that
we knew when we were in Greenville. We had a lot of them in
our Children's Church just a few years ago.

Nana's Birthday

Grace came over to celebrate Nana's birthday. We had fun. She wasn't so sure about the baby chicks.

Baby Chicks

We had one of our chickens sit on two eggs. Three weeks later two baby chicks hatched. They are bantam chicks, so they are extra small. They are so cute. One of them, is a Silkie, like her Mom. The other one, we took from another chicken, and is a Mille Fleur. She has no problem taking care of it. She is a foster Mom.

Portland Fair

Our last fair of the year was Portland Fair. The kids all did a great job. We camped in 30-40 degree weather (brr...). During the day we talked with people about our goats, played games and had fun. We learned a lot this year and we are looking forward to next year.

Harvesting Honey

We harvested our honey from its hive last week. We got 54 pounds of honey. It was fun and a great learning experience.

Happy Birthday Cole

Sweet, little Cole turned one on October 3rd. We went to Pennsylvania to celebrate his birthday. We love you Cole!
